The HWCDSB is a proud supporter of Bell Let’s Talk, a national awareness campaign dedicated to the promotion and support of mental health across Canada.
Bell Let's Talk Day takes place on Wednesday January 26, 2022. While the goal is to keep the conversation about mental health going all year long, January 26th marks the start of the campaign.
“As a Catholic school community and in support of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board Mental Health and Addictions Strategy, we are committed to fostering safe and inclusive learning environments, which includes addressing mental health and wellness,” says Mental Health Lead, Michelle Hayes.
“Bell Let’s Talk Day is a time to acknowledge that many students are struggling with challenging emotions in response to the realities of the pandemic and other events and impacts. It also provides another opportunity for our youth to hear messages that validate their varied and unique experiences and to be shown caring support.”
The HWCDSB social work department sends messages of kindness to HWCDSB students. Student can create Kindess Boxes for themselves or for others to provide encouragement and care.
Students, parents and other members of the school community are encouraged to Join the Conversation as we strive to break down stigma and reduce discrimination.
Let’s get the conversation started!
