This study and travel program offers secondary school students the opportunity to:

· Experience the culture, language, art, history, geography and cuisine of Italy

· Earn secondary credits while traveling in Italy

· Study: English, Italian, Civics and Career Studies, Classical Civilization, Visual Arts or Photography

· Take a second credit in Photography when combined with another cours

· Learn from experienced Ontario Certified Teachers

· Enhance your summer and your resumé

Student information sessions are being held in each HWCDSB secondary school (October – November). Students should refer to flyers which will be posted in the schools for dates and times.

Parent information sessions will also be held in each school on the following dates:

Bishop Ryan Wednesday, October 16
Bishop Tonnos Tuesday, October 29
Cardinal Newman Thursday, November 7
Cathedral Tuesday, November 5
St. Jean de Brébeuf Friday, October 18
St. Mary Tuesday, November 12
St. Thomas More Thursday, November 14

About the Program

The Hamilton-Dante Centre for Italian Language and Culture Inc. (a not-for-profit registered Corporation), in collaboration with school boards across Ontario, offers a study and travel program in Italy. The program provides the opportunity for high school students to earn secondary credits while immersing themselves in the history, art, geography, language and culture of Italy.

Fees

$5,995.00 Fee includes:

· Non-stop round-trip airfare Toronto to Rome – Venice to Toronto

· Canadian and Italian airport taxes, departure taxes, hotel taxes, city taxes

· Youth insurance package

· Air-conditioned luxury motor coaches

· Hotel accommodations

· All daily breakfasts, most lunches and all dinners

· All excursions on itinerary (Rome, Pompeii, Chieti, Sulmona, Florence, Assisi, Pisa, Venice, Verona, etc.)

· All guided tours and entrance fees to museums, art galleries and monuments

· Culinary demonstrations

· Use of Italian school classrooms as well as other sites

· Instruction by Ontario certified teachers as the credit program is offered by local Ontario District School Boards

· Use of textbooks

Fee does not include:

· Transportation to / from Toronto Pearson Airport

· Light lunches when travelling (approx. 7)

· Cell phone usage (phone plans)

· Non-instructional items for Photography students

· Consumable school supplies

· Purchase of items of a personal nature
