Dear St. Charles Adult & Continuing Education learning community,
This letter is to inform you that two adult learners at St. Charles Adult & Continuing Education Centre on East 5th Street have tested positive for COVID-19.
The learners were last in the school on Thursday, December 3, 2020. The positive test results were confirmed by Hamilton Public Health Services (HPHS) late today. HPHS has indicated that the two cases do not constitute an outbreak.
Out of respect for the privacy of the individual, personal health information and identifiers will not be released.Hamilton Public Health Services has determined that there are no school-related close contacts with either case and therefore there is no risk to the school.
The health, safety and well-being of our learners and staff is always a priority concern for our school and school board but is especially important during a global pandemic. We will continue to work closely with HPHS to ensure all health and safety measures are in place to prevent transmission to other learners and individuals in the school community. Learners and staff should continue to attend school, unless directed otherwise by HPHS, and to screen daily for COVID-19 symptoms on the provincial COVID-19 school screening website
Please follow the directions provided in the COVID-19 school screening. If you develop COVID-19 symptoms, you must stay home from school and should get a COVID-19 test. To book a COVID-19 test, please go to www.HamiltonCovidTest.ca
. Please inform the school of any absences and symptoms you are experiencing.
If you have any questions about COVID-19, please consult the Hamilton Public Health COVID-19 School Health program Hotline at 905-974-9848 (option 5) or firstname.lastname@example.org
In closing, we wish to assure you of our ongoing commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our learners and staff and will notify you of any new developments.
